Save a Child

We had to leave our home and find new jobs in Florida due to the economy, the bills were just stacking up faster than money could come in. Our son was left in the care of his biological mother, which has recently lost her grip on reality.

At the time it was safer to leave him in the care of his biological mother while we came here to Tampa to get our lives settled. Now it seems evident that we need to bring him back home with us. She has been hospitalized for mental care and the courts have intervened, thus placing him in the temporary care with his Grandparents.We were told by the social workers that in order for us to get him into our care again, we have to go back to Wisconsin to visit at least twice a month, and if possible every week to visit and re-establish a relationship with him. They have also set mandatory court appearances in which are set two weeks in advance, and very difficult to attend due to lack of funding on our part.

We both work part-time and try and save money, but it just doesn't seem like we are getting anywhere. We need your help to help us give our son a better life. Plane tickets are not exactly free or inexpensive, so we would appreciate any offerings to help us save our child.

Update: Recently made a trip to Sheboygan, WI by flying Southwest Airlines on April 20th, 2012. Austin was delighted to see his Father, and we said repeatedly how much we missed each other. Another trip is planned on the 4th of May, but no more trips are able to be made due to lack of funds. We fear we will lose the ability to visit if we do not receive air-miles or tickets to put him on a plane. Please help us help to help him.
